About the Author

Bishop Melvin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology with a minor in Christian Counseling in 1993. He began his preaching ministry at the age of nineteen under the leadership of his father-in-law, Pastor Arthur W. Jones Sr. In 2003 he became the senior pastor of the Powerhouse Church of God in Christ in Rochester NY. In 2005 he founded the Encouragement Centre C.O.G.I.C in Buffalo NY and a year later became the founding Bishop of the Rwanda East Africa C.O.G.I.C., which is comprised of over sixty churches. 2007 he was elevated to Bishop during the Centennial year of the C.O.G.I.C., as one of the youngest Bishops, at that time.

In addition to building the kingdom of God, he also serves as a Special Assistant to Bishop James R Wright Sr., of the New York Western Ecclesiastical First Jurisdiction of the C.O.G.I.C.
Outside of ministry, professionally, Bishop Melvin has a background in radio television and social work and has worked in Christian / Gospel radio ever since 1983. He has been a talk show host on Total Christian Television since 1992. His broadcast both in hosting and preaching have aired around the world.

Bishop Melvin has been favored by the Lord to be blissfully wedded to his wife, Mrs. Deborah Denise Melvin, for over 30 years. The couple has been richly blessed with over a hundred nephews and nieces whom they love as their own.
