Overview

Tami Matthews is on a mission to unite the student body at Robert E. Lee High School. She doesn't like that the students at her diverse school are all separated by ethnic cliques and wants to do something about it. But her cousin and classmate Chassidy, who doesn't like Tami's white boyfriend Trey, thinks Tami is out of touch. Tami plans a 60s Day for senior spirit week and accidentally goes back in time to 1963. She experiences a day at her racially diverse high school as it would have been during the segregation era. Tami attempts to resist Jim Crow laws, but soon realizes the harsh realities of segregation. Will she be able to unite the student body in the 60s and also maintain her relationship with Trey?

About the Author

Liz has been writing stories since she was 6-years-old. Liz has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Media Studies from Rutgers University. She also has a Master's degree from Villanova University.

Writing has always been her favorite pastime. As a child she would write stories on her paper notepads and read them aloud to her classmates and also ask friends to act out the scenes. She won several creative writing contests in school. She later turned in her notepads for a laptop and started writing novels and screenplays during winter and summer breaks in college.

When she's doing HR consultant work or writing in her free time, Liz enjoys traveling, Zumba dancing, cooking healthy meals and volunteering. Learn more her upcoming book and the charity organizations Liz likes to support at www.lizowrites.com
