Variations of chess have been around almost as long as the game itself. Some are very good; some are very, very bad. Chess itself is an almost perfect game; attempts to improve it have been unsuccessful and unpopular. If chess has any drawbacks at all, it is that it can only support two players. 4-Man Team Chess removes that limitation. It uses the basic moves and play of chess, but in a larger, more complex battlefield. Like traditional chess you must think ahead to moves and counter-moves, but the game goes beyond a single linear thought process, as you'll see.
There are many versions of 4-Man Team Chess. Based on game play, refinement, and a lot of trial-and-error, I believe this is the most exciting version you'll find.
