Overview

In 2007, the Five Star DXers Association, FSDXA, organized a large DXpedition to St. Brandon Island in the Indian Ocean. This DXpedition still rates as the most successful ever in terms of the number of contacts during an absolute sunspot minimum. The call sign, 3B7C, was for three intense weeks in September 2007, synonymous with global fellowship and heartfelt joy that is so typical among large numbers of ham radio operators all over the world, as they shared the best hobby of them all – amateur radio.

3B7C is primarily a photo book based on the documentary tradition within photography. The author, Pete Arninge (SM5GMZ), has been working as a journalist for more than 30 years, with 15 of those years devoted entirely to photojournalism. It is also a book filled with personal reflections and observations, showcasing what amateur radio really is all about as it erases borders and puts prejudices and preconceptions aside. The 3B7C team of 20 operators, from a variety of countries, succeeded in getting 137,500 QSOs into their log. This is the story about how it was done.

A MUST FOR THE SHELF!
Great Quality and a Must for the Shelf! This is a quality book and I would well recommend anyone that has an interest of Amateur Radio and especially DXpeditions should add this to their collect. The author and photographer Pete Arninge (SM5GMZ) has done a fine job of putting this one together.
