Overview

The Exalted Christ is a Lenten Devotional based on Matthew 16:24.
A faithful and obedient servant never seeks to honor himself, but rather, honor his master. If we lived our lives having done nothing more than exalt Jesus Christ, it would be a life well lived, a full life, a good life. Exactly what does that kind of life look like? How do we exalt Christ? The answer can be found in these words: Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. (Matthew 16:24 NASB)

Over the next 6 weeks, we will walk through an examination of nineteen words spoken by Jesus in Matthew 16:24. We will see the penance and contrition in If anyone wishes to come after Me as we review the facets of a godly life. We will explore the discipline in he must deny himself as we uncover pitfalls obstructing a godly life. We will examine the devotion in take up his cross as we discuss tenants of a servants life. And finally, we will walk through the ramifications in the simple but profound command: follow Me. May we all examine ourselves before our Savior as we seek to serve and honorThe Exalted Christ. The goal of this devotional is to focus the churchs attention on the exalted Christ, on the price He paid for our sin, and the glory and honor that is His and His alone.
