About the Author

I am a registered nurse with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Howard University, a Master of Science Degree with a specialization in education from Capella University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree from Grand Canyon University. I have been a registered nurse since 1996 and I am currently serving as a nurse educator at a local college. I dreamed of being a registered nurse at an early age and now that dream has been a reality for nearly 30 years. Now I get to help others realize their dream of becoming a nurse. I have served in many roles during my time as a registered including floor nurse, supervisor, and Director of Nursing. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother in Northern Ohio.
As a nurse educator I have seen numerous students continue to struggle and become burnt out semester after semester. I just began thinking it would be great to impart some tips to individuals that are thinking about nursing school, starting nursing school, or already in nursing school to help them be successful. I love helping people get to their next level in life and this book is one way I can help others be successful. I have so many students that write me after they graduate to say that it is because of me instilling knowledge and pushing them that they were successful. So, I just thought why can’t I help more students than just the ones I touch. I hope this book reaches individuals around the world and helps others the way that I have been able to help my own students. The book provides ten simple tips on how nursing students can be successful throughout nursing school.
