Joseph Jacobs (1854-1916) was an Australian folklorist, translator, literary critic, and English author known for his specialization in folklore. He also edited the One Thousand and One Nights and also contributed to The Jewish Encyclopedia. He also translated the earliest English version of The Fables of Bidpai.
