M.Selim Çürükkaya, 1954 Yılında Bingöl' de doğdu. Öğretmen okulu mezunudur. Siyasi nedenlerle 11 Yıl cezaevlerinde yattı. PEN üyesidir. Bazı gazetelerde yöneticilik ve köşe yazarlığı yaptı. Yayınlanmış dokuz adet kitabı bulunmaktatır. . Veywek adlı belgesel filmin rejisörlüğünü yaptı. Zazaca, Türkçe, Kurmanci ve Almanca biliyor.

He worked as a manager and columnist in some newspapers. He has twelve published books. He was the director of the documentary film "Veywek". "What the Hell?" and “Ma Dojeh Chiye?” He prepared TV series and movies for broadcast. He speaks Zazaki, Turkish, Kurmanji and German.
