Overview

Many fine calculus texts exist. However, there is neither a single course nor a single text in Introductory Calculus that is optimum for every school, instructor or group of students.

The intent of this eBook is to provide the student with a convenient summary of the highlights of Introductory Calculus. Included are Chapters covering: Analytic Geometry, Functions and Derivatives, Integration Techniques, Additional Functions and Their Derivatives, Vectors and Functions of More Than One Variable and Sequences & Series. Seventy-seven generously illustrated sections cover the topics found in a 2-term Introductory Calculus Course. This eBook has not been designed to replace any standard course text. It has been written to supplement normal course material by serving as a synopsis of the major topics, while omitting detailed proofs.

For more than three decades I have found it gratifying that this material has significantly helped to tie the course together for so many students. The print edition has been reprinted, by popular demand, and versions have been used at hundreds of schools and universities in every state in the country. According to THE MATHEMATICS TEACHER: National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, This [the Handbook] should be an excellent aid to students both for putting material in context and for preparing for examinations.

The Calculus with Analytic Geometry Handbook is also ideally suited as a handy shelf reference for use after graduation. The course text, course notes and homework problems should be carefully employed in conjunction with this eBook.
Good luck with your studies! Jason R. Taylor
