Overview

The I CHING or the Book of Changes is one of the oldest Chinese classic texts and contains a divination system that was used in ancient China. As a manual of divination, it interpreted events through readings based on symbols expressed in the trigrams and hexagrams. The I CHING successfully offered guidance to emperors, generals and civilians. Although thousands of years have passed, the popularity of using the I CHING as an oracle remains.

This e-book introduces the basic skills required for the hexagram analysis based on the Supplement to the I CHING Divination written by the scholar Ding Yue-Kang around 1668 AC. Ding Yue-Kang integrated the Five Elements and Terrestrial Branches with the traditional I CHING and derived a set of rules for the interpretation of hexagrams, including the inference of future dates. As of today, in China, Dings book is a must read for those who consider themselves as a master in this area and the only book that gives a complete detail in respect to decoding.

The Supplement to the I CHING Divination was written in the classical Chinese language and the English translation is not available. The author of this e-book uses plain English to present Dings principles. Different types of divination subjects have different decoding methodologies depending on the philosophy behinds them. This e-book focuses on the wealth related divination only.
