Dr. Nini (also surfs smiles to Anik), is stoked to release her first story beyond the reef and into your outstretched shakas.  A blend of her childhood nickname and chosen role of Doctoring as an Aunty/Pediatrician, the most magical medicine in her white coat pocket has always been a book. Diving into the delicious dance of the imagination, reading resonates with who she is as a Healer, illuminating childlike wonder and the essential vital sign to remain curious and playful. Oceans of Aloha was born alongside the Divine energy she feels in the sacred space of a newborn baby entering this world swaddled in Aloha.  Captivated by the stories of hope she’s lived from behind her stethoscope, children as teachers lead the way into our innate superpower of Aloha.

When she’s not sliding down rainbows, slurping shave ice and floating in fluid Aloha on Maui, she is immersed in a symphony of little voices that encompass her most treasured title of Mama.  Her haku crown grows more vibrant as she trusts her vulnerability as the path forward.  In wild abundance, the glorious waves of imperfection wash over her— sticking bravery badges on boo boos, transforming into a human jungle gym, increasing her carrying capacity for sticks, shells, flowers, and coconuts galore— her messy braid and arms spill over with fulfilled dreams.

Her fresh-squeezed Florida roots gave the sandy aisle and sunshine infused wedding scene for she and JD to plunge into forever to the tune of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” The landscape of their life together continues to unfold with passport stamps of fascinating flavors and equally exotic adventures navigating the familiar frontier of yet another front yard fort. The days are drenched in “Chase Me!” with their three charismatic keiki Camden, Cruz and Chord, and in the fluffy Aloha of their husky Kai Kai that decorates every corner of their Hale and hearts.

Once upon a spiritual surrender, the lyrics of this story splashed into her soul and onto the pages through the Vertical Awe that flows from her faith in the Forever Aloha of Ke Akua.   Oceans of Aloha is a coming home to her creative purpose and an honoring of the Aloha Spirit.
