My name is Yevgeniya Kanterezhi, nick name is Jeannie. I am a gay woman; I have been with my wife, Gabrielle for 11 years. We have two beautiful children together, our boy is 5 and our girl is 2. We conceived them through artificial insemination and I gave birth to both of them. We chose an open donor and we are a very open family. Our son has been asking questions about where he came from and we researched for children’s book that explain sperm donor and two mommies, but could not find any. Therefore, a few months ago I decided to take upon myself to write a children’s book that would explain just that. I self-illustrated it and self-published it.
I wrote this book to help children from all kinds of families understand what family is all about and I also believe this book is a start to teach young children about tolerance and acceptance and to combat bullying in school.
