About the Author

Lee Jordan lives outside Ft. Worth, Texas with his wife, 3 children, 7 dogs and 2 cats. His job as a commercial pilot requires a long highway commute. Jordan often sees drivers looking down at their phones as they swerve across the road, instead of looking ahead. He hopes instilling the dangers of distracted driving at an early age will help improve highway safety and potentially save lives down the road.

CHAPTER 1

The young witch Annica sat alone on this night, Surfing the Web after she switched off the lights. Her pet bat Murray sucked his claw and twirled her hair. He was sleepy after a meal of rats and a pear.

Creepy Tube featured ghosts with double troubles. They refused to rattle chains and blew spooky bubbles. A video going viral showcased an angry pink troll, When a giant put her underwear on a downtown flagpole. Annica never knew whom she might get to greet, While surfing the Web on One Creepy Street.

The witches, the vamps, some goblins and a croc, Loved playing an online game called Gecko Shock. Annica liked the puzzles and the weird painted lizards. Murray dreamed of eating deep-fried gecko gizzards.

There were always new players and zany private chats. She even made a profile for Murray, her bat. One player claimed to be a misunderstood spider. He always made her laugh. He couldn't be any nicer. When Murray slid down to sleep quietly at her feet, Annica emailed this spider on One Creepy Street.

They played Shock each night, this spider friend and the witch. They chatted 'til late. Murray promised not to snitch. She told him secrets about her crush on a vampire, And the night roasting S'mores when his cape caught on fire.

Then this spider friend asked for photos to trade. She sent pics from her trip to the Sea Serpent Arcade. Annica saw no reason to worry; had no fears to quell. She didn't stop to do homework or practice her spells. On a night dusting cobwebs she decided to meet, This new friend at the mall on One Creepy Street.

It was a rough and rowdy night for Officer Tate. Diva ogres squashed his toes with their roller skates. The gravediggers went on strike, the night crawlers blew a gasket, The yetis raced broken trikes, the vampires blinged a casket.

But the most disturbing thing that the policeman heard, Was whispered in secret with a few quiet words. There was a spider on the Web unlike any other, Who prowled the Internet, using games as a cover. As he walked along with bruised toes and sore feet, Tate searched for this spider on One Creepy Street.

Officer Tate used informants to get this Web spider's track. He asked the monster twins living under the ghoul-burger shack. He talked to Mort the Mortician, his buzzard, and his horse. He also called the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Then Annica's mother phoned with frightening news. Her problem was dynamite with a very short fuse. Annica's laptop was open to a gaming chat room. The young witch was missing, as was her jet-packed broom. Reading emails that Annica forgot to delete, Made her fear explode on One Creepy Street.
