About the Author

I am an Australian now living and working in Los Angeles. I wrote this poem and book as a way of introducing my nearly three year old twins to the animals and culture of Australia. I want them to develop a yearning for the unique Australian outback and to feel passionate about its nature and wildlife.

I grew up in Adelaide and then subsequently in Brisbane. My father was passionate about nature, and our family often spent our vacation time on camping trips to scenic parts of Queensland, including Fraser, Moreton and Stradbroke Islands.

One of the most memorable travels I have taken is the one with my wife Maria to see Uluru (formerly known as Ayers Rock) and the Olgas in the Northern Territory. The photo to the left is of me standing in front of the Olgas. They are worth a visit. On the same trip, we flew to North Queensland to see the Daintree rainforest and the hungry crocodiles�
