Washington Irving (April 3, 1783 – November 28, 1859) was an American short-story writer, essayist, biographer, historian, and diplomat of the early 19th century. He is best known for his short stories "Rip Van Winkle" (1819) and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" (1820), both of which appear in his collection The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent. His historical works include biographies of Oliver Goldsmith, Muhammad and George Washington, as well as several histories of 15th-century Spain that deal with subjects such as Alhambra, Christopher Columbus and the Moors. Irving served as American ambassador to Spain in the 1840s.
Astoria: Or, Enterprise Beyond the Rocky Mountains is a history book published in 1836 by Washington Irving. The book was commissioned by John Jacob Astor as an official history of his company's 1810–1812 Astor Expedition to Oregon. Astoria became a bestseller in 1836 and at the time was required reading in some schools.

Dutch: Zoe De Jong
Translator Zoe was raised in a foster house where they used to read different books for bedtime. Slowly that became her profession. Born in late 60s, her whole life was devoted to book of all kinds and culture. Later she saw so much vast emotions in other books she began translating all the books she could find in Dutch. Her translated books are now published by Myers Pressler Publication.
