У монографії, що є другою в Україні за вказаною темою (перша монографія – Шульга А. М. Кримінально-правова охорона земель від забруднення або псування: монографія. Харків : НикаНова, 2013. 256 с.), досліджені питання кримінальної відповідальності за забруднення або псування земель (ст. 239 КК України). Багато питань відповідальності за забруднення або псування земель досі у науці кримінального права вирішено спірно, наприклад, питання родового об’єкту, предмету забруднення або псування земель, суспільно небезпечного діяння та суспільно небезпечних наслідків забруднення або псування земель, засобів вчинення злочину, суб’єктів злочину тощо. Автор розглядає ці спірні питання застосування ст. 239 КК України та пропонує їх вирішення.
Проаналізовано елементи складу злочину: об’єкт, об’єктивну сторону, суб’єктивну сторону, суб’єкт злочину, а також види покарань та інші кримінально-правові наслідки щодо ст. 239 КК України.
Запропоновано удосконалення положень ст. 239 КК України «Забруднення або псування земель»; ст. 53 «Псування і забруднення сільськогосподарських та інших земель» та ст. 73 «Засмічення лісів відходами» Кодексу України про адміністративні правопорушення; ст. 1 Закону України «Про державний контроль за використанням та охороною земель» та ст. 1 Закону України «Про охорону земель».
Видання розраховане на науковців, студентів юридичних вищих навчальних закладів, суддів, працівників правоохоронних органів та читачів, які цікавляться кримінальним правом України.

In the monograph, which is the second in Ukraine on this topic (the first monograph - Shulga A.М. Criminal law protection of land from pollution or damage: monograph. Kharkiv: NikaNova, 2013. 256 p.), іnvestigated issues of criminal liability for pollution or damage to lands (Article 239 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Many issues of liability for land pollution or damage are still controversial in the science of criminal law, for example, the issue of the generic object, the subject of land pollution or damage, socially dangerous acts and socially dangerous consequences of pollution or damage of lands, means of crime, subjects of crime etc. The author considers these controversial issues of application of Art. 239 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and proposes their solution.
The elements of the crime are analyzed: the object, the objective side, the subjective side, the subject of the crime, as well as the types of punishment and other criminal consequences under Art. 239 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
It is proposed to improve the provisions of Art. 239 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Pollution or damage to land"; Art. 53 "Damage and pollution of agricultural and other lands" and Art. 73 "Littering of forests with waste" of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses; Art. 1 of the Law of Ukraine "On state control over the use and protection of land" and Art. 1 of the Law of Ukraine "On Land Protection".
