Gorgeous new Shakespeare paperbacks.”
—Marlon James, author of A Brief History of Seven Killings

“I have been using the Pelican Shakespeare for years in my lecture course—it's invaluable, the best individual-volume series available for students.”
Marjorie Garber, William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of English and Visual and Environmental Studies, Harvard University

Paul A. Cantor

"John Cox's edition of Julius Caesar is very user-friendly—it has copious and concise explanatory notes, generous selections from Shakespeare's sources, and a critical introduction that does a remarkable job of highlighting the main lines of interpreting the play over the centuries."

Part of L.A. Theatre Works’ The Play’s the Thing series, this production is a stellar example of the ensemble’s talent. There’s a perfect balance between human voice and background music/sound effects. The all-American cast provides a fresh and equally professional approach to this classic, which is typically performed by British actors. In addition, the production quality is excellent; the depth of the “stage” seems apparent as audiences hear actors at different volume levels, which helps to suggest their proximity to the main character in each scene. Overall, JULIUS CAESAR is a wonderful addition to any audio theater library. R.A.P. SYNC 2014 ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine
