The Emmy-Award winning writer and producer of some of television’s most popular shows (The A-Team, 21 Jumpstreet, and The Rockford Files to name just a few), Stephen J. Cannell (1941-2010) was also the author of the Shane Scully mystery series starring an LAPD detective, as well as several standalone novels. Cannell’s success was made even more remarkable by the fact that he suffered from extreme dyslexia. He died in 2010 from complications with melanoma.
