Primarily writing for young adults, Pete Hautman’s books run the gamut from realistic fiction to vampire stories. Godless, Hautman’s book about a young boy who decided to invent a new religion based on the town’s water tower, won the National Book Award in 2004. He also wrote Sweetblood, Invisible, and Rash, among many others.
