Overview

Wilde told the stories of this group orally to his brother in Paris as topics for a magazine he was corresponding with at the time, but he did not know that it would later become one of the signs of exotic literature in the world, with its stories carrying brilliant poeticism, symbolic depth, and stylistic uniqueness. The controversial writer in the world of adults, with his quarrels and crazy biography, writes in a charming, smooth, and transparent style wonderful stories for the world of children, which, despite their beauty, did not prevent even adults around the world from enjoying them and turning to their successive and continuous editions since 1888 until today, being impressed at times and influenced at other times.

About the Author

About The Author

The ever-quotable Oscar Wilde (1854-1900) was an Irish playwright, novelist, essayist, and poet who delighted Victorian England with his legendary wit. He found critical and popular success with his scintillating plays, chiefly The Importance of Being Earnest, while his only novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray, scandalized readers. Imprisoned for two years for homosexual behavior, Wilde moved to France after his release, where he died destitute.
