من عشها في شجرة هولم أوك سمعه العندليب

minn ashha fe shojra holme oak samaa al-andalib

from her nest in the holm-oak tree the nightingale heard him

ونظرت من خلال الأوراق ، وتساءلت

and she looked out through the leaves, and wondered

"لا وردة حمراء في كل حديقتي!" بكى

"la wardeh hamara fe kel hadikati!" bukki

'No red rose in all my garden!' he cried

وعيناه الجميلتان مليئتان بالدموع

ouaynah al-jemilatan melitan baldmoa

and his beautiful eyes filled with tears

"على أي الأشياء الصغيرة تعتمد السعادة!"

"ola ei al-ashia sghira tutamad as-sada!"
