Fourteen-year-old Nick moves with his father and younger brother to broken-down Victorian house they just inherited. When Nick opens the attic door, a toaster hits him in the head. This is just the beginning of a string of strange experiences he has with the stuff in the attic. After getting rid of everything at a yard sale, he befriends Mitch, Caitlin, Vince. Together they discover that what they thought was old junk actually has amazing properties. What's more...it seems like the attic has intelligence and a definite purpose!
