L. E. (Leland Exton) Modesitt Jr. is a science fiction & fantasy author who has written over 70 novels. He is best known for the fantasy series The Saga of Recluce (which the author suggests be read in the publication order) as well as the Imager Portfolio series and the fan-favorite Corean Chronicles series. He has also published technical studies and articles, columns, poetry, and a number of science fiction stories.
