Kwame Alexander is a New York Times bestselling author, Emmy Award-winning producer, poet and educator. He has written at least 39 books including his Newbery Medal winning young adult novel, The Crossover that was adapted as a Disney+ series. Some of his other works include Booked, which was longlisted for the National Book Award, The Playbook: 52 Rules to Help You Aim, Shoot, and Score in This Game of Life, Rebound, The Door of No Return, Swing and Becoming Muhammad Ali, which he co-wrote with James Patterson. He also co-authored picture books including How to Read a Book, How to Write a Poem and the award-winning book, The Undefeated. Alexander is a regular contributor to NPR's Morning Edition and is the creator and host of the Why Fathers Cry podcast. He lives in Virginia with his family.
