What happens when you mash up two timeless classics, “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas” by Jules Verne and “The Wizard of Oz” by L. Frank Baum? You get this twisted tale of Professor Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion, and the Tin Woodman, three members of an expedition to find and destroy a giant Munchkin that is threatening the shipping lanes. They discover that the menace is not, after all, a dan-gerous Munchkin, but is a submersible, the Nautilus, built and captained by a mysteri-ous wizard named Captain Nemo, who rescues and then imprisons the trio. In the course of exploring the world’s oceans, the three grow more restless and plot to escape back to their homes in Kansas.
This piece of “literature” is 99.9% the words of Jules Verne and L. Frank Baum. The two works have been mashed up into this twisted new version of two timeless classics.
