Entrepreneur Chip Gaines, a construction expert, and his wife, Joanna, a designer, are well known for their HGTV “Fixer Upper” shows and their Magnolia business entities. Here Chip offers a memoir filled with life lessons. The bombshell here is his announcement that their TV series will end after the current season concludes. The reason given is their need for more family time and privacy as their children age. Gaines provides an exceptionally engaging narration that is at once enthusiastic, comic, warm, and expressive. He uses his self-deprecating sense of humor in delivering anecdotes of a wide variety of bizarre antics. But serious religious and moral themes underlie the audiobook, which is a most enjoyable listening experience. W.A.G. © AudioFile 2017, Portland, Maine
