Phil Gigante sounds like he’s having fun with this offbeat sci-fi pulp adventure featuring a thief named Slippery Jim diGriz. This long-running series contains much first-person dialogue, making it ideal for audio. Satire rather than character development, a focus on problem-solving, and a sardonic twist of romance are the story elements that result in a canvas of melodrama that will remind listeners of the Golden Age stories of L. Ron Hubbard and the exploits of Han Solo. Gigante capitalizes on his opportunity to summon a full range of emotions and to demonstrate various humorous accents as diGriz confronts robots and aliens.
