Known for twisting and subverting classic children's tales to expose the deeper story underneath, Gregory Maguire wrote the bestselling book Wicked: The Life and Times of the Witch of the West, which inspired the hit Broadway play Wicked. He is also well known for three additional books based on the Wizard of Oz, as well as Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, based on Cinderella.
