Hard times
One of the most important novels by the English writer Charles Dickens, it was published in 1854. This novel is different from others for at least two reasons. The first is that it does not contain any image. The second is that the events of the novel do not take place in London or its environs, as Dickens was accustomed to doing, but rather in an imaginary industrial city in northern England. The story takes place during the Industrial Revolution and deals with the love of money and materialism that dominates Europe at this time. It tells about a father, "Gridhardrain," who treats his children with extreme cruelty, which leads them into social problems after that.
