About the Author

Steve Amoia is an Italian-American author, freelance writer and translator based in Washington, D.C. His writing career began as a technical writer for a software company. Amoia’s focal areas have been career-related themes, Chinese martial arts, historical figures, and international soccer journalism, respectively. He was the publisher and editor of World Football Commentaries (www.worldfootballcommentaries.com) from 2006 to 2020, and performed a similar role at The Soccer Translator from 2008 to 2015. 

Amoia was a contributor and translator at Soccerlens (now known as Sportslens) from 2007 to 2010 and 2018 to 2019, respectively. He was a contributor and translator at Beyond The Pitch from 2011 to 2013. Amoia’s early work in world football journalism took place as a contributor at AC Cugini Scuola Calcio, Italian Soccer Serie A.com and Keeper Skool, respectively. He also contributed translations to Calcio’s Greatest Forwards by George Rinaldi (Pitch Publishing Ltd., 2015) and Historical Finals of the Azzurri (Barnes & Noble Press, 2022).
