About the Author

SHOSHANA BENNETT, PhD (“Dr. Shosh”), the mother of Elana and Aaron, founded Postpartum Assistance for Mothers in 1987 after her second experience with two life-threatening postpartum depressions. She is the author of Children of the Depressed, Pregnant on Prozac and Postpartum Depression for Dummies. National TV shows feature Dr. Shosh as the postpartum expert, and news stations consult her. She’s interviewed regularly on national radio and has been quoted in dozens of newspapers and magazines. She is a past president of Postpartum Support International, noted guest lecturer, keynote speaker, creator of the first PPD app, an Executive Producer of the film Dark Side of the Full Moon, and Co-Founder of the Postpartum Action Institute. She earned three teaching credentials, two master’s degrees, a PhD, and is licensed as a clinical psychologist.



PEC INDMAN, PA, EdD, MFT, PMH-C has a doctorate in counseling and a master’s degree in health psychology, and is licensed as a marriage and family therapist, and nationally certified in Perinatal Mental Health. Her training as a physician assistant in family practice was at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Indman is a Past Chair of Education and Training for Postpartum Support International, and participates in annual conferences. She develops curriculum and is a trainer for Postpartum Support International. Dr. Indman has been interviewed on national radio and international and national television and for magazines and newspapers. Lecturing for a wide variety of audiences nationally and internationally, Dr. Indman has served as an expert advisor for federal and local programs. She is the mother of two girls, Megan and Emily.
