About the Author

Alexandra Douglas has been studying and researching Coturnix since graduating Oregon State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences, with an emphasis in Pre-veterinary Medicine, and Poultry Science emphasis. She also received a Veterinarian Technician Certification during this time. She decided to follow the poultry path, and shortly after moving to Florida started her very own farm, Stellar Game Birds, Poultry, and Waterfowl. Currently she is living on a beautiful 5 acre property with her Significant other Eric, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 4 parrots. This does not include her hundreds of birds in the back area. She and Eric breed Game Birds, specializing in quail mainly, exhibition and dual purpose/heritage chicken, ducks, geese, and their beloved 7 Emu, Donkey, and Nigerian Dwarf Goats. Alexandra is an advocate for educating the public on the proper poultry husbandry of the various species, but is also on the holistic side of care as well as she and Eric work on a more self sufficient homestead.
