The story is about a couple of friends, Avelino and Artemio, who one day it occurred to them to go to the mountains to collect mushrooms for dinner. But like all inexperienced and impulsive young people. It was easy for them to enter the foothills of a mountain believing that they would spend a fun afternoon where the main dish was a mushroom soup they collected themselves.
But since most of the time things never go as planned, it turned out that these two friends arrived at the place where they used to find mushrooms, the bad thing was that there were still no mushrooms that they knew about. So, they went deeper and deeper into the mountain searching, until they reached a place where they not only found mushrooms that they knew about, but they also found other types of mushrooms that looked like magic mushrooms because they were very pretty colors. For a moment they felt like they were in a fairy tale.
Then it became easy for them to cut various types of mushrooms to take them and ask someone what type of mushrooms they were, but suddenly they realized that night was already close and they wanted to return home, but when they got up, they realized that they didn't know. where they were and began to run to get out of the mountain.
But these deluded people, instead of running to get out of the mountain, they ran in the opposite direction, going deeper into the depths of the mountain. Seeing themselves lost and without food and with the night upon them, they have no choice but to stay in one place and wait for the night to pass and then continue looking for their way back home.
