What People are Saying About This

From the Publisher

"Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) offers a powerful and potentially lifesaving set of skills. However, it can be difficult to apply these skills amid the demands and difficult emotions that they are designed to address. As such, the challenge is not only learning DBT, but also integrating it into one’s life. DBT Cards for Coping Skills provides an accessible and practical way to achieve that integration. Written by Dr. Kiki Fehling, a Linehan Board Certified DBT expert, this deck and its accompanying overview of DBT principles remain faithful to the original skills developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan, ensuring that you have a reliable resource for incorporating DBT into your everyday routine." —Will Buerger, PsyD, clinical director of the DBT-A program at Montefiore Einstein and instructor of child outpatient psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine

"DBT Cards for Coping Skills are a great way for anyone to learn DBT skills and use them more consistently. They also include some new DBT-inspired skills that many readers will find essential. Written by Dr. Kiki Fehling, an expert in DBT, the cards in the deck present the skills in a way that is concise and user-friendly, making even the more complicated DBT skills easy to understand and practice." —Elliot Weiner, PhD, director and cofounder of NYCBT and coauthor of Self-Directed DBT Skills

"Dr. Kiki Fehling's DBT Cards for Coping Skills magically summarizes the powerful treatment that DBT offers in an approachable deck format. The booklet and cards allow both clients and therapists not only access individual DBT skills easily, but also gain a deeper grasp of how DBT skills work together. The cards are easy to read and understand, and they are true and accurate to the original skills developed by Marsha Linehan. Dr. Fehling has once again found a way to make DBT more accessible to those who need it. I look forward to sharing this with my clients and colleagues!" —Lena Nicodemus, MA, LMFT, Intensively trained DBT Therapist at Iris DBT

"I have found DBT skills to be central to helping people survive painful situations, create a sense of centeredness, and make an impact in this world. And, we need more fun and useful tools to make the magic of DBT skills more available both to people new to DBT and clients who want a practical refresher. Dr. Kiki is a true DBT skill translator and the right expert to create these wonderful cards. DBT Cards for Coping Skills is so useful, I plan to pull a card from it at my family’s weekly meetings so our household can focus on a new life-enhancing skill each week.” —Ursula Whiteside, clinical psychologist and CEO of NowMattersNow.org
