Seven Years of Sadness is a poetry collection written by Diamond Garrett. The collection features poems written from as early as 2017 and as recent as 2024. This seven year period Garrett notes as a season of personal growth and internal learning as she strived to heal from trauma and seek maturity while transitioning into adulthood. During this time Garrett exhibited several bouts of sadness and depression. This collection takes an introspective account of life as Garrett has experienced and interacted with it. Using truth infused fiction and different narrative perspectives Garrett delves into the emotional, mental, and physical encounters she has endured working through over the last seven years.
