Overview

In the isiMpondo version of ‘The Odysseys of Queen Ntoyi’, (Amahla Ndinyuke ka Nkosikazi Ntoyi), translated from English by Ntombifuti, Sylvia Ncwayiba, chances are that Wardle has just made history as there are no known publications in isiMpondo. In this novella, Western nobility converges with African royalty, yielding an admixture of fantasy. Patrimony, sets the foundation for a subdued but distinctly effervescent matriarchal ascendancy. In accordance with providence, Princess Ntoyi’s destiny unfolds through the inadvertent passing of the Queen Mother. She assumes her divine transfiguration with the powerful wings of the Golden Eagle, as per the decree of Lord Qha!
