What People are Saying About This

Lourdes Ortega

This book by Blake and Zyzik is unique. It is unique not because it is written in Spanish—a fact that in itself represents a great virtue for the professional training of teachers of ELE and researchers of Spanish L2—but because the topics have been well chosen, impressively researched, and clearly explained in each chapter. Applied linguists and all readers are in luck!

Kimberly Geeslin

This exciting new book offers an excellent introduction to the study of language learning with particular attention to the unique features of the Spanish-speaking world. It provides an outstanding balance between coverage of central tenets of second language acquisition and attention to the latest cutting-edge pursuits, such as the identification of varieties of Spanish for instruction and the use of technology to support language learning.

Barbara A. Lafford

Grounding their ideas in recent international research in second language acquisition and applied linguistics, the authors provide detailed responses to selected critical questions in those fields and provide new perspectives on the complex and interrelated nature of accepted constructs.
