Fighting the Fuhry: a collection of essays from one political guerrera
Opinions expressed are from the viewpoint of my personal experiences as a: fronteriza / border girl, a Mexican-Am / Chicana, a Tejana / Texan, a native El Pasoan, a Latina, who was working in politics, from the volatile 2016 presidential cycle - where I suffered personal cyber attacks from Trump mobs - to the 2020 Texas election cycle. My hometown local online newspaper (now defunct) had given me my own column where I wrote many Op-Ed pieces. These 14 essays cover my personal experience, my viewpoint, from when Trump announces he was running in 2015 - through the election - and post-election, having to live in a Trump era. As a: Mexican-American, an El Pasoan, I share the anger and pain of what it was to be targeted and feel the full force of the ire of the "President" of the United States and carry a bullseye on our city, which culminated in what is now known as "the largest and deadliest attack on a Mexican community, in U.S. history." I never want the world to forget what happened here, to us.
