Overview

Four Seasons of Joy! takes a light-hearted look at the changes throughout the year as viewed by a child. Using different forms of poetry from Haiku to Limericks, rhyming verse and an acrostic, Four Seasons of Joy! can be read by early readers, but is even more fun to read with parents. Holly hopes parents will be encouraged to share their own childhood memories as they read with their child.

“The joys of writing are many fold. They swirl through our imaginations and, like the changing seasons in this delightful collection of verse, capture the essence of times that do not stand still but leave us with constant hope and renewal. I’m delighted to see my friend Holly capture her creative and inspiring thoughts to paper and be able to pass them along to another generation. The poems are inspiring and so full of the love for family and friends. The gift of writing is, indeed, a gift to share.” - Clary Croft
Clary Croft is a beloved, Nova Scotian folklorist, storyteller, folksinger, and artist. Know for his work on CBC radio and television, he is the acknowledged master of one of the richest repertoires in Canada and is a household name in Nova Scotia and beyond.

About the Author

Holly Roddam is the mother of 4 adult children and Nana to 4 creative granddaughters. She has been writing for her grandchildren since 2008 and her books have been enjoyed by boys and girls across the nation and around the world.
Holly takes pleasure in seeing the world from “3 feet off the ground”. The sense of adventure and wonder from having “grown up” conversations with the little people she encounters brings joy and delight to each new day.
As a speaker and singer, Holly has travelled the world. She also enjoys painting, and one day hopes to put all 3 talents together to create a book with her own artwork and songs.
This is Holly’s fourth book.
Holly would love to hear from you at hollyroddam@live.com. What is your favourite season? Which poem did you like the best?
