Rulnick, a feature writer for Pittsburgh Parent magazine, and Schneider, a professional editor, have put into book form a compilation of tips, advice, and suggestions from their many presentations and articles (see their web site, www.franticwoman.com). Corresponding to the 12 months of the year, chapters include sections on organizing and maintaining a household (e.g., winterizing one's car), including the family in the cleaning process and planning for fun (e.g., setting up a calendar of birthdays and anniversaries), and rejuvenating one's own spirit (e.g., scheduling time to be alone). Following each chapter is a "One-Step-at-a-Time Checklist," which lists what should have been accomplished during the month. Not only is this book bursting with helpful pick-and-choose hints, but it is also arranged in a format that allows anyone to pick it up and browse. It will appeal to single as well as married women and should enjoy healthy circulation.
