Chaplet of St. Michael: Meditations & Prayers for the Rosary of the Angels
The Chaplet of St. Michael the Archangel, known also as the "Rosary of the Angels," was given to Antónia d'Astónaco, a Portuguese Carmelite, by St. Michael. It honors St. Michael and the nine Angelic Choirs and was approved and indulgenced by Ven. Pope Pius IX in 1851. To those who pray this Chaplet, St. Michael gave this promise: "Whoever would practice this devotion in his honor would have, when approaching the Holy Table, an escort of nine angels chosen from each of the nine Choirs. In addition, for the daily recital of these nine salutations, he promised his continual assistance and that all the holy angels during life, and after death deliverance from Purgatory for themselves and all their relations" (Promises of St. Michael to Antonia d'Astonac). The theology and meaning of these prayers to St. Michael are introduced with a Foreword by Fr. Haynes. The volume also contains detailed explanations about each of the nine choirs of angels and their relation to St. Michael, the Prince of the Angelic Host. Readers will be blessed by the practice of keeping this devotion to St. Michael and will learn much about the angelic realm that God has established in His Kingdom.
