About the Author

I bleed the water of the East river, and have been baptised by the Hudson. No one is more New York than me, at least I’d like to think so. I survived two
major blackouts, one in 1965, and one in 1977. I also survived three transit strikes, the
bombing of The World Trade Center in 1993, not to mention, 911, but I will. 911, was
the quintessential change of a before and after in New York City, that changed the way
we live today. Despite all I’ve seen, felt, and experienced, in the way of tragedy, I still strut down Broadway, as if I own this town. Lord knows, I’ve not only paid my dues, but for every block of pavement I walk, every one of my tax dollars has invested in it.
I love New York.
