About the Author

Malachy Doyle was born in Northern Ireland and much of his inspiration comes from the Irish folktales told to him as a child by his mother. He began his career as a children's writer in 1996 and met with immediate success. His work has gathered critical acclaim from all quarters and he passionately believes that you are never too young, too old, or too wise to enjoy and to learn from these stories. Malachy lives in mid-Wales with his wife Liz and their three teenagers, Naomi, Hannah, and Liam.

Award-winning Irish illustrator Niamh Sharkey works in oils on a gessoed textured background to create the richness in color that has quickly established her as a world class illustrator. She graduated in 1994 with First Class Honors from the College of Marketing and Design, Dublin, and was chosen as "Student of the Year" in the Graphics category by the Society of Designers in Ireland. Niamh now lives in Dublin, Ireland.

Maura O'Connell was born and raised in County Clare, Ireland, where she began singing at an early age. She was nominated for a Grammy in 1990 and now regularly tours North America and Ireland with her blend of contemporary folk music. Maura lives in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, the heart of country and bluegrass music.
